Chapter One

Anyone who knows me at all knows that I have a passion for old things: houses, cars, objects, people. There is something about things with a history that appeals to me. Perhaps it is that the patina of age, the nicks, scars, and worn edges, that set my mind wandering back in time, imagining the myriad stories of loves and losses, hard work and lives lived within the walls of these sturdy, sometimes quirky houses.
My latest project is a wonderful Greek/Federal farmhouse in Trumansburg, New York. I saw a photo of it over a year and a half ago, when I was not even looking, but on some level I knew that this would someday be my home.

Hey Amy. You did it! I am so excited to see what you do with this interesting house. I am so glad that I got to see it before and look forward to seeing it after or even during with transformation. I still marvel at the transformation of your cottage. I got to see it before with the patio doors on the second floor to nowhere. Thanks for letting me know of your newest acquisition.

Hi Amy,
I am really impressed. I have always been facinated by old houses. It wll be fun to see how this one comes along. Is this what you do for a living, or is this something you do just for the love of it?
